Unpredictable Pakistan win first ODI against Kiwis

Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 3 wickets mainly due to the 110 runs partnership between Haris Sohail and Shahid Afridi in the first ODI at Dubai. Usually weak in chase, it seemed Pakistan will loose this match when they were 124 for 6. But Sohail (85 not out) and Afridi (61 off 51 balls) took Pakistan home. Vettori and Neesham took 2 wickets each for the Kiwis.Pakistan won the toss and sent New Zealand to bat first. Ross Taylor scored his 11th ODI century to help the Kiwis to post a modest total of 246 for the loss of 7 wickets. He was unbeaten on 105. Mohammad Irrfan was peak of the Pakistani bowlers, who took 3 wickets for 57 runs. Haris Sohail was declared man of the match. Second ODI between these sides will be played at Sharjah on December 12.
