US envoy greets Bangladeshis on Eid

Dhaka, August 1: US Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl Miller has wished everyone good health and happiness on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. “I know it is also a challenging time for many. Our thoughts and hearts go out to all those most directly affected by the recent floods and so many, everywhere, by COVIC-19,” he said in a message on Friday conveying Eid Mubarak to all.
The US Ambassador said they honour the memory of those they have lost to the pandemic and wish those who are ill.
“We send our best to their families and loved ones and hope they can draw comfort and strength from the compassionate values at the heart of Islam,” he said in the message.
“In the spirit of Eid and our common humanity, let us reach out to those in need and help protect each other by wearing a mask when we leave our homes, staying home as much as possible, particularly if we are not feeling well, practicing social distancing and frequently washing our hands.”
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, acting High Commissioner of the UK to Bangladesh Javed Patel also issued a video message.
On behalf of the British High Commission Dhaka, he wished everyone Eid Mubarak.
