Vessel workers will go for indefinite strike from January 26 midnight demanding 15-point demands including 10,000 minimum wage.Chowdhury Ashiqul Alam, secretary of Bangladesh Noujan Sramik Federation (Bangladesh waterways transport workers federation), said that the vessel workers’ federation will enforce indefinite strike from January 26 midnight to press its 15-point demands, including minimum of wage 10,000.
Other main demands included announcement of wage structure, implementation of Fishing Trawler Wage Gazette, cancellation of planning to supply oil through pipelines, ensure safety of navigability and waterways, he said.
If the government is not meet our demands before January 26, we will enforce the strike from midnight on January 26, Chowdhury Ashiqul Alam added.
