Veteran actor, Ad guru Alyque Padamsee passes away

Veteran actor, theatre personality and ad guru, Alyque Padamsee, passed away on Saturday morning at 90. Survived by three former wives and four children, the Ad-man is famously known for portraying the role as Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1982 in the movie Gandhi. Padamsee, who also headed popular ad agency Lintas India, was known as Brand Father of Indian advertising.
He was the man behind popular ad campaigns like Lalitaji for Surf, the Liril girl, Cherry Charlie for Cherry Blossom Shoe Polish, Hamara Bajaj, the MRF muscle man among many other memorable ads.
The President Of India, Ram Nath Kovind, as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also took to Twitter express their grief on knowing about Padamsee’s demise, reports filmfare.
