Veteran comedian Tele Samad taken to ICU

The renowned comedian Tele Samad has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday. Earlier he was at the High Dependency Unit (HDU) of Square Hospital. However, the hemoglobin count in his blood has fallen, and as a result the he was transferred to a cabin in the BSMMU. On Friday his situation worsened, and now he has been taken to ICU. Tele Samad’s oldest daughter Sohela Samad Kakoli is with her father at the hospital. She confirmed to various media the news of his transfer.
Kakoli told reporters: “No one well understands the current status of her father’s health. The hemoglobin count was falling, and the treatment for it is better at BSMMU. Therefore, the doctors advised the transfer.  At BSMMU he was given two bags of blood, and earlier given three.”
Kakoli also added that, as per the doctors Tele Samad has an infection in his chest. She is expecting prayers from the people of the entire country for her father’s quick recovery.
Popular actor Tele Samad had a bypass surgery in US in 2017. He returned to Bangladesh in September the same year after recovery.  However, he was admitted to the hospital twice in October and November. On October 20 last year he had an emergency surgery on his left toe.
