Wasim Jaffer made BCB HP unit’s batting coach

Dhaka – Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Indian domestic stalwart Wasim Jaffer as the batting coach of its High Performance unit.

Jaffer will work with the age-level teams of Bangladesh. However, BCB is yet to reveal the details of the contract with Jaffer, a BCB director said on Thursday wishing anonymity.

In the last season of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, Jaffer played for Abahani Limited and helped his team to win the title. During his stint for Abahani, Jaffer helped several players to improve their batting, and the players showed their interest to work with Jaffer. BCB came to know this and roped him in as batting coach.

Earlier, Jaffer has indicated that he will be available to take the role if BCB makes any step to bring him.

Jaffer played 31 Tests and two ODIs for India. However, his biggest achievement is scoring more than 19,000 runs in First-Class cricket with 57 hundreds and 88 fifties. He played a total of 253 First-Class matches till the date.

At the same time, he played 112 List-A matches in India and Bangladesh, where he scored 4745 runs with 10 tons and 33 fifties.UNB
