Wife complains of bid to save real killers of Refat Sharif

Dhaka, Julu 14 – Ayesha Siddiqa Minni on Sunday claimed that conspiracies were afloat against her in a bid to save the “real killers” of her husband Rifat Sharif, who was brutally hacked in broad daylight in Barguna. She came up with the claim while she addressing the media in her house, just a day after the press briefing of Rifat’s father who accused his son in law Minni as the main perpetrator.
“The group styled 007 is very powerful in Barguna. They are pressuring my father-in-law in many ways to influence Rifat’s murder probe,” she said.
Saying that her father-in-law’s allegations were false and baseless, she said, “My husband was hacked to death in front of my own eyes on June 26.”
She added that she couldn’t save her husband from the attackers despite her many attempts and no one came forwards to help.
“I was made the first witness in the case without being charged. But now suddenly allegations are leveled against me to mislead the investigation,” she said.
Minni said that Nayan Band was a drug dealer and addicted. Cases were filed against him.
“He stalked me for long time. He threatened to kill my father and brother and for that reason I have never opened my mouth,” she said.
She said, “My father in law is sick. He has become hysteric after his son. After murdering my husband, a group are hatching plot against me. They are posting negative and distasteful post on social media after editing the photos and videos”.
The purpose of it is to divert the real incident to different directions. Because those who created the group ‘oo7’ possess pelf and power,” she mentioned.
“Many have questioned my role after seeing the CCTV footage but no one tried to know the truth,” she said.
Minni said that the day of the killing, Rifat went to her college and said that his father was there and wanted to see her.
“When I got out, his father wasn’t there. Rifat requested me to go out with him when Rishan Farazi and Rifat Farazi took hold of him.
“I was taken aback by the whole thing and started walking after them. When I saw them beating him up, I tried to save him but failed,” Minni said.
She expressed gratitude towards the administration and home minister for giving her protection and called on the prime minister to ensure justice.
Earlier, on Friday Abdul Halim Dulal, father of slain Rifat demanded the arrest of his daughter-in-law Minni for her alleged involvement in the murder.
Holding a press conference at Barguna Press Club, Rifat’s father claimed that Ayesha was involved in the killing.
Indicating the new video footage which was circulated on the social media recently, he said: “Ayesha was seen reluctant when Rifat was attacked by the criminals and I believe she was involved in the killing.
