Women’s Handball: Mariner Youngs’ off to flying start

Dhaka – Dhaka Mariner Youngs’ Club got off to a flying start in the Cute Women’s Handball League’2019 outplaying Dilkusha Sporting Club by 38-19 goals in the opening match at Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Saturday.

The winners clearly dominated the first half by 21-4 goals.

In other matches of the day, Viqarunnisa Noon Sports Club beat NR Sports Home by 28-21 goals after leading the first half by 12-6 goals while Arambagh KS outplayed Jamalpur Sports Academy by 46-15 goals after leading the first session by 19-6 goals.

Earlier, Chairman of the league sponsor Mousumi Industries Limited (Cute) Kazi Razibuddin Ahmed Chapol inaugurated the league at a simple ceremony organised by Bangladesh Handball Federation.

General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, League Committee Chairman and Deputy Commissioner (Finance) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Shyamol Kumar Mukherjee and Secretary of the League Committee Md Mokbul Hossain were present on the occasion.

Nine teams– Dhaka Mariner Youngs’ Club, Arambagh Krira Sangha, Dilkusha Sporting Club, RN Sports Home, Madaripur Handball Training Centre, Viqarunnisa Sports Club, Gafur Baluch Smriti Sangsad, Jamalpur Sports Academy and Quantum Foundation — are taking part in the league.UNB
