Dhaka – Khulna Division clinched the Walton 4th National Women’s Hockey title beating Dhaka Division by 1-0 goal in the final at the Maulana Bhashani National Stadium here on Monday.Jessi scored the match-winner for Khulna Division in the 24th minute.President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation and Chief of the Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal Mashiuzzaman Serniabat witnessed the day’s final as the chief guest and later he distributed the prizes.
Champions Khulna Division received prize money of Tk 60,000 while the runners-up Dhaka Division got Tk 40,000 as prize money, in addition to trophies.
Nomita Karmakar of Khulna was adjudged the best player of the tournament while three players –Kimi Karmakar (Khulna Division), Sumi Akhter (Dhaka Division) and Tasnim Akhter (Rangpur Division) scored five goals each to share the highest scorer awards.
Earlier, Rangpur Division finished 3rd in the tournament beating Rajshahi Division by 3-1 goals in the 3rd place deciding match Monday morning.UNB
