The activities of re-excavation of Kurigram Zilla Parishad pond as voluntary basis by the members of Zilla Parishad Kormokorta Kormochari Samity is going on periodically on Sunday.Earlier the inaugural function was held near the pond on March 14 where Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) SM Abu Horaira was present as the Chief Guest while Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Zilla Parishad Faridul Islam was presided over the function. The meeting was addressed among others by Kurigram district Information Officer Mozammel Haque,Chairman of Belgacha union council Alhaj Mahbubar Rahman,formar chairman of Mogolbacha union council Emdadul Haque(Emdad),social worker Tahmina Begum (Mina) .The speakers narrated that it is a good initiative to re-excavation the pond as voluntary basis. If we do any work together we will success.The chief guest along with CEO were inaugurated the re-excavation activities with spade by the side of the pond. More than one hundred people including the neighbors were cutting the earth with joy wearing white uniform. The length of the pond is 216 feet and width 100 feet. Local people and reporters participated in the voluntary work.CEO of Kurigram Zila Parishad Faridul Islam told this correspondent that the pond is now fit for pisciculture.
