Five suspected robbers were beaten to death by mob-lynch while a minor shot dead by robbers firing in Monoharganj upazila in the district early Wednesday.The identity of the robbers could not be known yet while minor was Arif, 11, son of Ismail Hossain, of Panchruhi village in the upazila.
Monoharganj police station OC Jahirul Anwar told banglanews, “A gang of 12 to 14 robbers tried to rob one US expatriate Abdul Malek Manik’s house in Pacchimpara area of the laxmanpur union of the upazila around 3:30am. Hearing their screams, locals rushed in and chased the robbers.”
During the time, robbers opened fire on them to clear their way to flee the scene, leaving a minor dead and another man injured, the OC added.
The injured is heading to a Dhaka hospital.
Later, villagers of neighboring Batabaria area caught three of robbers and gave them good beating, leaving two dead on the spot and another injured critically.
On the other hand, inhabitants of Keyari village in neighboring Baishgaon union caught two other robbers and beaten them to death on the spot.
On information, police rushed the injured to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the morning. Banglanews24.com
