Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) held Rajshahi City Jamaat Amir Ataur Rahman with huge amount of explosives and jihadi books from capital’s Kalyanpur on Tuesday afternoon.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, RAB-4 Commander Lieutenant Colonel Kismat Hayat said, “Acting on a tip-off, plain-clothed RAB personnel held him from Kalyanpur with explosives and jihadi books.”
Head of RAB Detective Branch Lt Col Ziaul Ahasan said, “Ataur Rahman fled to Dhaka early Tuesday.”
He added: “Few cases were filed against Ataur Rahman for attacking police and snatching arms.”
On Monday evening, four Awami League men received bullet injury when Chhatra Shibir activists attacked and opened fire gunshots at an office of ruling Awami League in Binodpur adjacent to Rajshahi University (RU).banglanews24.com
