A man was killed and 50 others were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over land dispute at Amrita village in Bahubal upazila on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Siraj Mia, 25, son of Mokhles Mia of the village.Ohidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bahubal police station, said Mojahidul Islam and Timu Miah of the village had a longstanding enmity over a land.Supporters of both men equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other in the afternoon, leaving 51 people injured.On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.Among the injured, Siraj succumbed to his injuries at Bahubal upazila health complex.The other injured people were admitted at Habiganj Sadar hospital and the upazila health complex. -UNB, Habiganj
