10 AL MPs at Khaleda’s office asked: ‘Memo to PM too?’

10 Ruling party lawmakers, who are physician by profession, along with some other doctors on Wednesday handed over a memorandum to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia;s office with a 24-hour ultimatum to withdraw hartal blockade programme and refrain from activities including ‘acts of anarchy and fire bombing’.
The lawmakers and physicians led by former health minister AFM Ruhal Haq and Habib-e-Millat went to Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office at about 12:30pm and handed over their memorandum to media wing member Shyrul Kabir Khan. The team had an altercation with Shyrul Kabir while handing over the memoraqndum as he wanted to know whether they submitted similar memorandum to the prime minister to stop the extra judicial killings and maiming of people in police firing.
In reply a doctor of the team remarked that they would submit a memorandum to the prime minister to take care of those who are still staying at Khaleda’s office despite being accused in criminal cases.
In the memorandum signed by Habib-e-Millat said the use of petrol bombs only can destroy the future generation of the country but nothing else and hoped that the BNP chief had understood the reality.
It claimed that 86 people were killed by petrol bombs out of 119 during the hartal and blockade of 20-party alliance.
AFM Ruhal Haq claimed that Khaleda Zia lost her mental balance. We hoped that she will come to her good sense and carry out democratic programme ending violence, he added.
