10 get burn injuries as truck torched in Magura

Ten people, including eight workers, suffered burn injuries in a petrol bomb attack on a sand-laden truck at Moghirdhal on Magura-Jessore road in Sadar upazila on Saturday night.
Nine of the victims were identified as Imran, 25, Faruk Lashkar, 35, Nazmul Alam, 35, Nawsher Ali, 40, Elias Ali, 40, Motin, 35, Arab Ali, 25, Shakil, 35, and Yadul, 40.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Jahangir Alam said a group of sand workers were returning to Magura from Jessore on the sand-laden truck.
As the truck reached Moghirdhal around 8pm, miscreants hurled the petrol bomb at the vehicle.
Soon after the petrol bomb attack, the truck went up in flames, leaving the eight workers and the truck driver and his helper burned.
The injured were whisked off to Magura Sadar Hospital where doctors referred them to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital after primary treatment.
It was learned that most of the victims suffered burns over 60 percent of their bodies. – UNB
