10 houses were gutted by a fire that broke out at Jainapur in Dakkhin Surma upazila on Tuesday night.
Fire service sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a house owned by one Hira Miah in the area and soon engulfed nine other adjoining houses at about 8:00pm.On information, a fire fighting unit rushed to the spot and doused the fire with frantic efforts.The blaze caused losses amounting to Tk one lakh, said the house owner. -UNB, Sylhet
