Around one hundred shanties were destroyed in a fire at a slum in Paschim Madarbari area in the city early Monday.Assistant Director Azizul Islam of Agrabad Fire Service said that the fire broke out at 5am.
On information, four firefighting units from Agrabad, Nandankanan, Chandanpura and Bandar fire service rushed to the spot.
“The fire was extinguished the fire around 8am, after three hours of frantic efforts,” he said.
No casualty was reported.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be ascertained yet, reports UNB from Chattogram.
