Airport Armed Police (AAP) members and Custom officials arrested two people along with 113 turtles at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here on Monday.
The arrestees, identified as Mobarak Ali, 45, and Asif Alauddin, 27, were supposed to fly for Malaysia by a flight of ‘Malinda Airlines’ Monday night.Assistant commissioner Riadul Islam of Customs at the airport said customs officials found the turtles after scanning two luggage of Mobarak while he was entering the airport through Gate-6 around 8pm.
Police arrested him after a hot chase as he tried to flee. The AAP also arrested Asif in this connection. – UNB
