Twelve Bangladeshi boys returned home on Monday night after
languishing for two years in an Indian jail.
Indian authorities handed them over to Bangladesh authorities at
Benapole checkpost.
The returnees are Sumon,10, Khalifa, 14, Shahin,13, Babu,11, Zahidul,
13, Jasim,16, Mostafa,15, Sumon Haldar,15, Alam,10, Joynal,16, Jasim
Laskar,16, and Shafiqul,15. They all hail from different areas of
Bhola, Bagerhat and Pabna districts.
A BGB member at the checkpost said a team of Indian police had
arrested the 12 boys from Mumbai town of India two years back for
their illegal border crossing.
Later, they were sent to Indian prison where they suffered two years.
