Chittagong district police in a night-long drive detained 12 activists of BNP-Jamaat-Shibir from five upazilas of the district on Thursday night.
Naimul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district said they were nabbed in overnight raids conducted in various places of Sitakunda, Satkania, Fatichhari, Mirsari and Lohagara Upazilas on Thursday night. Among the detainees, three were Jamaat activists, five Islami Chhatra Shibir activists and four BNP activists, the police officer said adding that they were detained to prevent possible acts of sabotage during country-wide blockade enforced by BNP-led 20 party alliance. –BSS, Chittagong
