Dhaka- At least twelve people sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between a bus and a pickup van at Debpara in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj district on Dhaka-Sylhet highway on Monday morning.Identities of the injured could not be known immediately.Sony Chowdhury, a local journalist of Nabiganj, also one of witnesses of the accident, said a bus of Ena Paribahan coming from Dhaka collided head-on with a pickup van from opposite direction at about 7:00 am, leaving 12 people critically injured.Later, the injured were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.Immediately after the accident, locals blocked the highway for half an hour, halting traffic movement.On information, a team of police rushed in and removed the barricade, said Sherpur Highway Police OC Bimal Chandra Boumik.UNB news agency
