12 state-owned enterprises given Tk 1,381cr in subsidy

The government has provided subsidy to the tune of Tk 1,381.83 crore to 12 state-owned enterprises in the outgoing fiscal year (2012-13).According to the Bangladesh Economic Review 2013, Bangladesh Water Development Board got Tk 652.62 crore in subsidy in the fiscal while it was Tk 640.29 crore in fiscal 2011-12.
Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) was given subsidy worth Tk 292.94 crore while Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority got subsidy of Tk 127.26 crore, Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Tk 64.35 crore, Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust Tk 75.65 crore and Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) Tk 135.83 crore.
