RANGPUR, Nov 22, 2013 (BSS)- Fourteen gamblers were arrested
in separate raids conducted at different places in Hili frontier
town under Hakimpur upazila in Dinajpur district this afternoon,
police sources said.
Led by Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hakimpur Thana Ahsan Habib,
a special police team conducted raids in Moharapara and
Churipotti areas in the frontier town and arrested the gamblers,
aged between 18 and 35 years, red-handed while gambling.
The arrested gamblers are Jonny, Ashraf, Mostafa, Azizur,
Arman, Harun, Fazal, Mithu Shakhawat and Mostafa of Hakimpur
upazila, Anwarul of Parbotipur upazila in Dinajpur, Abu Raihan
and Rabiul of Panchbibi upazila in Joypurhat and Shahadat of
Rajbari district town.
“The arrested gamblers will be produced before a mobile court
in Hakimpur upazila tomorrow,” the OC told BSS tonight.
