14,000 Hefajatmen sued in Narayanganj

NARAYANGANJ: Some 14000 activists of Hefajat-e-Islam were sued for their alleged involvement in fierce clashes with Law enforcers in Siddhirganj of the district on Monday.Police, RAB filed the four cases with Siddirganj police station on Wednesday morning but police didn’t disclose the names of accused for the sake of investigation.
Narayanganj District Assistant Police Super Md. Ahsan said, “RAB-11 DAD Sreekanto Tripura field a case against eight thousands unidentified men mentioning 35 names for attacking RAB, creating obstruction in government work and setting fire on vehicles.
Siddhirganj police station SI Alamgir filed murder case for killing Police Constables Firoj and Jakaria against three thousands people mentioning 28 names.
Meanwhile, SI Farid filed a case against three people mentioning 70 names for vandalizing, torching Police-box.
SI Ataur Rahman filed another case accusing many others for vandalism and arson.
Earlier on Monday, at least 14 people, including two police personnel and a Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) man, were killed during fierce clash between activists of Hefajat-e-Islam and law enforcers in Narayanganj.
Later, a  member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), who was wounded in the clashes in Kanchpur of Naraynganj on Monday, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Tuesday morning.
