At least 15 shops were gutted and some others partially burnt as a fire broke out at Bandar area under Banaripara upazila of the district last night.Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sayed AJ Morshed Ali said the fire originated from kitchen of a restaurant at about 11 pm and soon engulfed the adjacent shops.Sources said being informed, fire fighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze with the help of locals after two hours frantic effort.
