A total of 1,65,117 students have submitted their admission form through online for diploma engineering course against 57,780 seats at 119 government polytechnic Institutions, technical school and colleges across the country.
The students will be admitted in two shifts, said an education ministry release here today.
In first shift, around 99,718 students applied against 32,340 seats while 65,459 students applied against 25,440 seats for second shift.
The government has increased 26,220 seats this year to accommodate more students in the polytechnic institutions. Last year it was 31,560 seats. The last date for the admission was June 20.
The admission result will be published at 2pm on June 26.
