18-party’s rally postponed

Opposition BNP-led 18-party alliance has postponed their pre-scheduled protest rally which was set to be held on Saturday afternoon.

BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, on Friday night, said they were compelled to postpone the protest programme as police administration did not permission to build stage and set up mike in the rally venue.

While disclosing the information, Rizvi criticized the government for not giving permission to hold protest rally, adding that such attitude of the government is contrary to multi-party democracy.

Earlier on Thursday, the alliance made announcement to stage the rally demanding release and withdrawal of cases filed against alliance leaders, restoration of caretaker government and protesting the killings and abductions of opposition leaders.banglanews24.com
