Rajshahi – The Ist year team emerged champion in the Shahin-Babul Memorial Cricket tournament, an annual sports competition of law department of the Rajshahi University (RU) beating 2 nd year by 29 runs on Sunday.Batting first, Ist year cricket team scored 131 runs for five from their allotted 15 overs. Ist year team cricketer Naeem scored 49 and adjudged man of the match.
In reply, 2 nd year cricket team failed to reach the target and were all out for 101 runs.
Chairman of the department A N M Wahid handed over the Trophy to the winning team.
Professor M Anisur Rahman, Professor Ahsan Kabir, Sahal Uddin, Rafiqul Islam teachers of the department and RUALF president Ifthekar Shahriar were present at prize giving ceremony. – RU Correspondent
