2 cousins killed in city road accident

Two cousins were killed as a speedy truck hit their rickshaw near Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital in the city early Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Abdus Salam, 25, son of Dulal Hossain of Borogram Batteryghat under Kamrangirchar Police Station in the city, and his cousin Parvez Ahmed, 23, son of Shahadat Hossain of Dewanganj upazila in Jamalpur district.
Sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said the truck crashed into the rickshaw around 6am while the duo was going to the residence of Salam from Kamalapur Railway Station, leaving them dead on the spot.
The bodies were sent to the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
Family sources said Salam, a businessman by profession, went to visit Parvez’s village home several days back and he returned to the capital in the early hours of Thursday along with Parvez.
They reached the Kamalapur Station by a train from Jamalpur and were going to Kamrangirchar by the rickshaw when the tragedy struck them.
