2 DU teachers terminated for not joining after study leave

The authorities of Dhaka University (DU) has terminated its two teachers for not joining work after expiry of their study leave tenure. The terminated teachers are – Nafiz Zaman, assistant professor of Information Science and Library Management department, and Md Ahsanul Akbar, assistant professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Department.
The decision was taken on Sunday at a meeting of the DU syndicate, the highest decision making body of the university, with DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair.
Confirming the matter, Associate Professor Humayun Kabir, a syndicate member, said they have been terminated from their post as they did not join work after the end of their study leaving tenure, reports UNB.
