A tribunal here on Thursday convicted two people and sentenced them to 14 years’ imprisonment
for possessing firearms.
The convicts were identified as Mizan Shikdar, 31, son of Abdul Gafur, and Liton Hawladar, 35, son
of Gani Hawladar– both residents of Hayatsar in the city.
According to the prosecution, police in a drive arrested Mizan and Liton along with a 9mm pistol,
three rounds of bullet and three sharp weapons from Hayatsar area on February 3, 2010.
Police filed a case in this connection on the same day.
After examining records and witnesses, Special Tribunal-2 Judge Matiar Rahman handed down the
