Dhaka – A court here on Sunday convicted two men and sentenced them to life term imprisonment for abducting and raping an indigenous woman in 2014.The convicts were identified as Ariful Islam, 30, son of Delshad, and Ziaur, 32, son of Mostofa, residents of Atahar area in Sadar upazila.The court also fined them Tk 50,000 each.According to the prosecution, the convicts abducted the indigenous woman from Atahar area on November 29, 2014.Later, they took her at a mango orchard and raped.On the next day, the victim filed a case with Chapainwabganj Sadar Police Station in connection with the incident.After examining all evidences and witness, Additional District and Sessions Judge of Chapainawabganj Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-2 Ziaur Rahman handed down the verdict.UNB news agency
