Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two alleged drug peddlers along with 388 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from Jamalpur village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning.
The arrestees were identified as Toiyab Ali, 29, son of Golam Mostafa, a resident of Ratanpur village in Panchbibi upazila, and Shafiqul Islam, 33, son of Makbul Hossain, a resident of Raipur village in the same upazila.Major Abdur Rahim, commanding officer of RAB-5, said on secret information, a team of RAB conducted a raid in the area and arrested the duo in the morning.The elite force also recovered 388 bottles of the contraband drug from their possession.The arrestees have been engaged in drug peddling in the area for long, the commander added.Rab handed over them to Sadar Police Station.
A case was filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act. -UNB, Joypurhat
