Dhaka -Police arrested one leader and an activist of Jamaat-e-Islami from Maheshpur upazila headquarters in Jhenaidah on subversion charges on Saturday night.The arrestees were identified as Faruk Hossain, general secretary of the upazila unit of Jamaat, and Mukul Hossain, activist of the Maheshpur municipal unit of the party.Officer-in-charge of Maheshpur Police Station Aminul Islam Biplob said tipped off, a team of police launched a drive in the area and
arrested the duo at night.The arrestees were wanted in several cases for subversive activities,the OC added.
