Dhaka – Two people were killed and 16 others injured as a bus carrying a bridal party plunged into a roadside ditch in Bhadrikandi area of Damudya upazila in Shariatpur on Tuesday afternoon.The deceased are Rubel Bepari, 19, son of Mati Bepari, and Tajel Sikdar, 19, son of Selim Shikdar of Charmalgaon village in the upazila.Officer-in-charge of Damudya Police Station Md Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury said the wedding party was going to Kasipur of Sadar upazila from of Moderhat area.Suddenly, the bus with 50 people skidded off the road and fell into the ditch around 1:30 pm as its driver lost control over the steering, killing the duo on the spot and injuring 16 others, he said.The injured were taken to Damudya Health Complex, the OC added.UNB news agency
