A private car crashed into a roadside electric pole on Airport Road in the city on Friday evening, killing its two passengers.
The deceased were identified as Shahidul Islam, 44, son of late Altaf Hossain of Damarul of Naria in Shariatpur, and Mohammad Jabed, 42, hailing from Sirajganj.Officer-in-charge of Chittagong EPZ Police Station Abul Mansur said the private car hit the electric post around 6pm after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving six people injured.
They were rushed to local Navy Hospital where Shahidul and Jabed died.
The rest of the injured were shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
The accident happened while Shahidul along with his friends was going to Patenga sea beach with his car, the OC added. – UNB
