Two people were killed in separate incidents of lightning strike in South Sunamganj and Jamalganj upazilas on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as Lutfar Miah,45, a resident of Laxmipur village in Jamalganj upazila, and Sayed Miah,30, a resident of Shimulbak village in South Sunamganj upazila.
Witnesses said a thunderbolt amid rain struck Lutfar while he was going outside to bring cattle at about 6:00 am, leaving him dead on the spot.Meanwhile, Sayed was killed by a lightning strike while he was working in his crop field at about 8:00 am, leaving him dead on the spot.Officer-in-charge of South Sunamganj Police Station Al Amin and Jamalganj upazila chairman Kamruzzaman confirmed the incidents. -UNB, Sunamganj
