Two people were killed in separate incidents in Pagla and Jalkuri areas of the city on Saturday.Golam Mostafa, sub-inspector of Fatullah Model Police Station, police recovered the body of a man from Pagla Nayamati area of Fatullah on Saturday morning.The deceased was identified as Jalal Mia, 35, a resident of the area.
Police said being informed by local people police recovered the body of Jalal from the house and sent it to 100-bed Narayanganj General Hospital.The body bore several injury marks, said police.In another incident, a man was burnt to death as a fire broke out at his house in Jalkuri Pilkuni area of the city on Saturday.The deceased was identified as Abdul Bepari, 65, a cloth trader by profession and resident of the area.Witnesses said a fire broke out at the house of Abdul around 6 am on Saturday and spread soon.However, local people rushed in and extinguished the flame. local people recovered the charred body of Abdul from the house.The origin of the fire could not be known immediately.Joynal, nephew of the victim, said when the fire broke out Abdul was alone at his home as the other house inmates went out of the house for attending a marriage ceremony on Friday.The fire burnt down valuables of two houses, he said. -UNB, Narayanganj
