2 more people testifies on Blogger Rajib murder case

Two more people testified before a court here on Tuesday in the blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider murder case.Judge Syed Ahmed of Dhaka’s Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 recorded the deposition of sub-inspector of Pallabi Police Station Matiur Rahman, also the first investigation officer of the case, and Mizanur Rahman, a witness to the seizure list.

With this, 33 witnesses out of total 55 have so far made their deposition before the court in the murder case.

The court also fixed December 6 for recording the testimony of other witnesses.

Earlier on May 11, Judge Ruhul Amin of Fourth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court shifted the case to the Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 in line with a decision taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs for its quick disposal.

On March 19, the court indicted eight people — Shaikhul Hadith Mufti Jasimuddin Rahmani, chief of Ansarullah Bangla Team, former students of North South University (NSU) Faisal Bin Nayeem alias Dipu, Maksudul Hasan alias Anik, Mohammad Ehsan Reza alias Rumman, Nayeem Sikder alias Irad, Nafir Imtiaz, Sadman Yasir Mahmud and Redwanul Azad alias Rana in the blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider murder case.

Of them, Redawanul Azad Rana is still on the run.

On February 15, 2013, Ahmed Rajib Haidar was stabbed to death near his house at Mirpur Palash Nagar in the capital.
