Chattogram, Oct 12 (UNB) – Two workers reportedly died after inhaling toxic gas in a shipyard at Kumira of Sitakunda upazila here on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Saiful, 26, of Naogaon district, and Masud, 22, of Sitakunda.
Shamim Sheikh, officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station, said the accident took place at OWW Trading and Shipbreaking around 8pm.
The duo fell into a gas tank while working on an old ship and fell sick.
Being rescued, they were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where doctors declared them dead around 9pm, said sub-inspector Abdul Hamid of CMCH police outpost.
