2,150 kg garlic, 1,100 kg hilsa seized in Satkhira

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in separate drives seized 2,150 kg garlic and 1,100 kg hilsa fish from different places foiling smuggling bids in Debhata and Sadar upazila of the district on Monday.BGB sources said on secret information, a team of BGB, led by Subedar Belal, conducted a drive at Alipur check post in Sadar upazila early in the morning and recovered 2,150 kg garlic worth around Tk15 lakh.Operation officer major Anwarul Mazhar of BGB battalion-38 said another team of BGB seized the 1,100 kg hilsa worth around Tk9.20 lakh from Perulia area of Debhata upazila while it was being smuggled out to India on Monday noon. -UNB, Satkhira
