In a worst bus accident of recent times in Bangladesh, twenty four people, including five women, were killed and 22 people seriously injured on the Faridpur-Barisal highway at Koidhubi in Bhanga upazila early on Thursday.According to information received in Dhaka the speeding bus hit a roadside tree and got twisted from its frontside killing the 24 passengers on the spot at about 1-30 am. The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Police said the Barisal-bound bus met the tragic accident when its driver lost control over the steering in the area.
The injured passengers were admitted to Bhanga upazila Health Complex and Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
