So far a total of 2,464 tonnes of boro rice has been procured from all the four upazilas of
the district under the ongoing boro rice procurement of the government against the target
of 4,776 tonnes.
District food department sources said the boro rice procurement drive to be continued in
the district till September 30.
The sources further said, of the total rice procurement, 582 tonnes has been procured
from Chuadanga Sadar upazila, 739 tonnes from Alamdanga upazila, 97 tonnes from
Damurhuda upazila and 1,046 tonnes from Jibannagar upazila.
The procurement is conducted through five purchasing centres. -BSS, Chuadanga
