A two-day long programme alumni association of Bangla Department at Rajshahi University (RU) has started on Friday and will be continued till Sunday amid huge enthusiasm and fanfare on the campus.
The programme includes grand rally, recitation of poem, literaterrary speech, drama performance, reminiscence, discussion meeting about literature and culture and past and future of student politics.Former VC of RU Professor Abdul Khalaqe inaugurated the program while university VC Prof Dr Muhemmed Mizanuddin was present as the chief guest and head of the Bangla department and convener of the alumni association Dr P.M Shafiqul Islam was in the chair.
RU Pro-VC Prof Chawdhury Sawoar Jahan and retired teacher of this department Prof Dr Zulfikar Matin also were present as special guest, among others.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President Advocate Abdul Hamid’s issued separate massages which were read out by Eminent Poet Anik Mahmud and Poet Aminur Rahman Sultan. – RU Correspondent
