Law enforcers in separate drives arrested three people in possession of fake currency notes with
face value of Tk43,500 in Gazipur and Naogaon on Thursday.
In Naogaon, members of the Detective Brunch (DB) of police in a drive arrested a man along with 13
fake notes of Tk500 denomination each in front of BMC Women College in the town on Thursday.
The arrestee was identified as Farid Uddin, 42, son of Munglashar of Chakpai village in Sadar upazila.
Acting on secret information, a team of DB police conducted a raid in the area and arrested Farid
Uddin along with the fake currency notes.
In Gazipur, police in a drive arrested two people along with Tk37,000 fake notes from a house at
Sarab in Kashimpur area of the district on Thursday.
The arrestees were identified as Abdur Rahsid,28, of Barenda area of Kashimpur, and Rafiqul Islam,
37, of Chitalmari upazila of Bagerhat district.
Being tipped off, a team of police conducted a raid at the house of one Basir Uddin and arrested the
duo along with 37 fake notes of Tk1,000 denomination each in the afternoon.
The arrestees have been involved in fake currency rackets for long. –UNB, Dhaka
