Three international exhibitions on readymade garment technologies and machineries began in the city on Thursday. Conference and Exhibition Management Services Ltd (CEMS) Global USA in association with CEMS Bangladesh arranged the four-day fairs at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre. Textiles and Jute Minister Abdul Latif Siddique inaugurated the fairs. President of American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) Aftabul Islam and vice president of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) Mohammad Hatem were present at the inauguration ceremony. The fairs are: The 14th Textech Bangladesh 2013 International Expo, international exhibition on textile garment technology and machinery along with concurrent exhibitions `16th Dye+Chem Bangladesh 2013 Int’l Expo’ and `7th Dhaka Int’l Yarn & Fabric Show 2013’. Nearly 450 exhibitors from over 15 countries along with important industry associations are participating in the exhibitions, which will remain open for only trade and business visitors from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm every day, organisers said. – UNB
