Three people were killed in two road accidents in Jessore Sadar upazila and the district town on Friday.
Police said two people, including a minor girl, were killed and 10 others injured when a truck hit a human hauler on the Jessore-Magura Highway in Sadar upazila in the evening.
The deceased were identified as Sadia Khatun, 9, daughter of Shahjahan Ali, a resident of Rajapur village in Sadar upazila, and Jahurunnesa, 55, wife of late Arshad Ali Mollah, a resident of Indra village in Bagharpara upazila.
Witnesses said the accident took place at about 6:00pm when a Magura-bound truck from Jessore knocked down a human hauler coming from Khajura Bazar, leaving Sadia and Jahurunnesa killed on the spot and 10 others injured.
The injured were rushed to Jessore 250-bed hospital.
In another incident, Abdur Rashid, 35, a human hauler driver, was killed when a mini truck hit his vehicle at Biman intersection in the town at 6:00am while he was going to Keshabpur for bringing a fish consignment.
