3 more die in ‘crossfire’ in Narayanganj, Chapainawabganj and Narail

A man with ties to drug trading has been killed in Narayanganj in a ‘shootout’ with the Rapid Action Battalion or RAB amid the ongoing crackdown on drugs.He was named in at least 18 narcotics cases at Sonargaon and Siddhirganj Police Stations, according to RAB.
Two unidentified men—one in Chapainawabganj and the other in Narail—have also been killed in alleged shootouts, according to the law-enforcement agents. Police said they were robbers.
Drugs and several weapons were recovered during the incidents, the officials said.
Law-enforcement agencies have been reporting deaths of ‘drug dealers’ in ‘shootouts’ almost every day since the nationwide drive against drugs began in May following a directive by the prime minister.
At least 200 people have been killed in the last two months in similar incidents.
