Remains of three more fire victims were recovered from the fire-ravaged ‘Tampaco Foils’ factory in Tongi BSCIC Industrial area on Monday, raising the death toll in the fire incident to 39.The bones of two bodies were found in the establishment around 11am in a rescue operation conducted jointly by the Army and the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD), said Akhterzumman Liton, assistant director of Gazipur Fire Station.
Later remains of another body was recovered from the establishment around 1pm.
The firefighters and army personnel are working to remove the debris of the collapsed building and heavy machinery.
The fire, apparently triggered by a boiler explosion, at the packaging factory on September 10 killed at last 36 people and injured nearly 40 while the blaze collapsed parts of the four-storey building.
