3 unions in Natore flooded as Ganga water keeps rising

Natore, Sept 30 (UNB)- Flashflood caused by rise of water level in the Padma in River in the last few days inundated low-lying areas and winter vegetable fields in 18 char lands in three unions under Lalpur upazila .

Ummul Banin Duti, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, said early variety winter vegetable fields in 18 char lands under Ishwardi, Bilmaria and Sadar unions in the upazila went under floodwater.

Ishwardi Sugarcane Factory sources said flood submerged sugarcanes on 42 acres land.

Al Asad, assistant engineer of Natore Water Development Board, said if water level continues to rise further the water level in the Padma River will cross the danger mark within three to four days.
